The largest jewelry and watch exhibition has opened its doors and will last until February 28 at the Metropolitan Expo

The restart of the Greek economy is also marked by events such as the course of this year’s Athens International Jewelery Show (AIJS), the Minister of Development and Investments, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, pointed out from the stage of the opening of the Exhibition, which took place a while ago at the Metropolitan Expo exhibition center .

Mr. Georgiadis emphasized that the participation in the Exhibition is great, as is the traffic according to the data of the first day of its operation. The Minister wished good success to the exhibitors and underlined the high added value for the Greek economy of the jewelry sector. For his part, the President of TIF-Helexpo, Mr. Tasos Tzikas, described AIJS as a model exhibition, while he noted that the national exhibition body is returning to a phase of full activity after the pandemic.

The President of the Panhellenic Federation of Artisans, Silversmiths, Jewelers, and Watchsellers (POVAKO), Mr. Petros Kalpakidis, emphasized that AIJS is coming back strongly and praised the high level of participation in the Exhibition of Greek exhibitors, while he spoke of the number of visitors, which is expected to exceed the expectations.

The Athens International Jewelery Show, organized by TIF-Helexpo, is the largest international exhibition of the sector in Greece and highlights the new trends in gold, silver and watches. In this year’s 34th edition, it incorporates innovations, such as the new institution of the Design Section, while it has 200 direct exhibitors from Greece, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, Germany and Belgium and 112 indirect (foreign houses).

The Design Section was created with the aim of promoting and highlighting Greek design jewelry, which has repeatedly been distinguished abroad for its originality and high manufacturing quality.

With priority given to the safety of visitors and exhibitors at the exhibition, all prescribed health protocols will be observed during the entry and stay of visitors. In particular, entry to the exhibition is only allowed to those who have been vaccinated or to holders of a disease certificate and it is mandatory to wear a mask during the entire stay inside the exhibition center.
